Pray Aware of Who He Is!

Oh so often we are quick to believe the miracle of rescue for other people, and yet fail to believe it for ourselves.

But today I want to give you a verse of encouragement to hold on to.

David knew well of God's provision. In his seasons of great need we see him crying out to God for help.

Psalm 59 is filled with examples of this.

"Rescue me from my enemies, O God." (verse 1)
"Protect me from those who come to destroy me." (verse 1)
"Save me from these murderers." (verse 2)
"Wake up! See what's happening and help me!" (verse 4)
"Show no mercy to wicked traitors." (verse 5)

And then he encourages himself as he remembers who God is.

Verse 9 says, "You are my strength; I wait for You to rescue me, for You, O God, are my fortress."

Oh he remembers!

And he remembers not only the nature of God, but His promise to be faithful to Him personally.

He claims it for himself.

"You are MY strength... You are MY fortress."

Oh that you and I would think of all He is while believing it for ourselves.

My commentary says, "We cannot wait on God in crowds, but one on one."

Remember who He is for YOU today and claim His promise of rescue for yourself!

Say it out loud if you have to - YOU are MY strength and MY fortress, God."

Oh how He "longs to be gracious" to you, friend! (Isaiah 30:18)!
