Flowing From You and Through You

Ephesians 2:6 tells us that we are seated in heavenly places with Christ.

My commentary for this verse says this, that, “believers share God’s glory and blessings, and experience resurrection both now and in the future.”

Ahh… BOTH NOW and in the future.

And yet so often I question whether we see this for a future time period only. Whether we reduce this to a point of theology devoid of experience, or whether we truly believe that the power that raised Jesus from the dead… that resurrection power… runs through the very veins of His children THIS side of eternity!

The very fact that we are, “raised from the dead” and, “seated… in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ”, should be proof enough that we have been given the same assignment Jesus had while here on the earth. (“Greater works will you do than I did.” John 14:12) Being “seated in heavenly places” is supposed to be a place from where we think and from where we see.

We know from scripture that, "His thoughts are higher than our thoughts, and that His ways are higher than our ways.” (Is 55:8-9)

And so if we are going to imitate Jesus this side of eternity… if we are going to impact a nation for Him… we’ve got to begin thinking like Him. Seeing like Him. Responding like Him.

We think, see, and behave from the place of a heart that is alignment with His. We can only do these things when we choose to live with a heart that has “…set his love upon” Him. (Ps 91:14, KJV)

When we choose to live with a heart fully and completely set upon Him, we begin to think and see from a different perspective. From His abiding presence, we think, see, and respond like Him.
And so it becomes a matter of staying acutely aware of all that’s flowing IN us.

What are we allowing ourselves to listen to? To watch? To read?

It matters.
Especially now.

What we are allowing to flow into us will naturally affect what flows out of us.

And the world needs the resurrection power that you and I possess as followers of Jesus… so that they, too, can be given the opportunity for hope in the midst of heartache, devastation, and loss.

This is a season of progress and spiritual maturity for the people of God.

Let’s be vigilant about guarding and protecting what flows in us, so that we won’t be polluted by the putrid impurities, but that we will utilize our positions as sons and daughters who have resurrection power living inside of us - to shift the atmosphere of every space we enter into.

It matters.

What’s flowing FROM you is affected by what’s flowing THROUGH you.
