DAY THREE
Read Luke 22:14-19
John 13:1 says, “Before the Passover Celebration, Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to His Father. He had loved His disciples during His ministry on earth, and now He loved them to the very end.”
Jesus had shown them the full extend of His love. He was sharing in this meal with them and says, “I have been very eager to eat this Passover meal with you before My suffering begins.” (vs 15)
Jesus’ death was the image of the true Passover Lamb that was crucified.
The first cup that was introduced in verse 17 was the cup of thanksgiving. Jesus knew what would be happening to Him just hours later, and He did what? He GAVE THANKS. He went willingly because He knew it was to bring glory to His Father and redemption to man.
The cup of wine represents what?
The bread represents what?
Spend a few moments listing out some of the things you are grateful for. What is the Lord doing in your life right now? And if you cannot discern what He's currently doing, focus on what He's done. And if you struggle with remembering what He's done, consider His many promises listed throughout the pages of His Word. He's a good God who, "...longs to be gracious to you." (Is 30:18)
