Easter Reading Plan / Devotional 2019: 1

Today is DAY ONE of the Easter Reading Plan / Devotional. This is a 16-day journey as we prepare our hearts for Easter. Every day there is scripture to read, and some days include questions to ponder, prompts to journal, and suggested prayers to pray.

I have kept it simple for a purpose.
Make it yours! Journal your thoughts. Investigate. Ponder. Mediate. Take it all in.
The point and purpose is really to draw in closer to the heart of Jesus.

I would LOVE to hear your thoughts as you go through each day, and as always, please feel free to share your pictures here and over on Instagram. They warm my heart more than you know!!!

DAY ONE

Read Luke 22:1-6
Who was the disciple who was plotting against Jesus?
What was the motive behind betraying Jesus?
Look up definition for Betray. What stands out the most about this word?

Matthew 26:15 tells us that the price the leading priests paid for betraying Jesus to them was thirty pieces of silver. This was considered to be a price of a slave. (Ex 21:32)

Regarding Judas, respond to what one commentator has said, "It is hard to say whether more mischief is done to Christ's Kingdom by the power of it's open enemies, or by the treachery of it's pretend friends."

Read Psalm 41:9.

Read Acts 1:16-17. Scripture tells us that Judas’ betrayal was the fulfillment of God’s plan.
